During the next seven years, he developed his skills to create his own mark in the world of art. Consequently, Kiril undertook extensive travels to explore various cultures and to paint. He was deeply impressed by the colors and mystic atmosphere of Kenya in 2001. After visiting Turkey, Italy, Spain and Brazil he returned to the United States with a rich collection of paintings.
Kiril Jeliazkov’s art has been on exhibit in many locations in Bulgaria, Europe and the USA. Undoubtedly, the highlight of his displays is being the representative for Bulgaria in a joint exhibition. This event showcased 50 different artists from 50 different countries. In 2006, Kiril presented his first large-scale project “The Orange Step”. Specifically, this project was a composition of 128 large-scale canvases, each canvas 22 feet high by 11 feet wide. As can be seen Kiril wanted to symbolize the idea that art is for everyone.
In 2007, Kiril Jeliazkov completes his BFA and MFA in painting at Savannah College of Art and Design. The artist is currently living and working in Washington, DC.
